Who is Transparent Residents United?
Eighteen of your Stone Ridge neighbors who love Stone Ridge Estates.
We first came together because we all had questions about financial impropriety on the part of our Homeowners Association Board of Directors.
When we requested to examine financial documents for the past two years, which all members of the association are entitled to review, the Board charged us $800 to receive the documents. After five months of efforts, the previous Board (in place between November 11, 2022 – October 6, 2023) would only release half of the requested records.
The stonewalling and lack of transparency on behalf of our Board of Directors led us to believe that our Homeowners Association was in a state of financial disarray.
As a result, the members of TRU fully supported the recall of that same Board of Directors in pursuit of greater transparency and accountability by the Board which is supposed to represent all homeowners.
On September 30, 2023, the Recall Election ballots were counted. Overwhelmingly, Stone Ridge voters supported the Recall of the previous Board. During a Board Special Meeting on October 6, 2023, the newly elected Board approved nominations for positions on the Board.
- President: Richard Stein
- Vice President: Julia Simms
- Treasurer: Chris Drake
- Secretary: Mel Bettencourt
- Director at Large: Anastasia Wiley
This is a victory for all Stone Ridge homeowners, but TRU’s work is not finished. Transitioning from the old Board to the new Board has reportedly not been smooth. There is an annual election on November 28, 2023, where all five seats will be on the ballot for full terms and TRU will continue its work of communicating the importance of voting again to keep the new Board in place for full terms.
Stay tuned!
